Education for Ministry

Education for Ministry (EFM) started the year with eleven participants. We had a very successful year examining our own spirituality and learning about the beginning of Christianity and how the Bible was written.

Participants in all four years report on the reading that they assigned, and that is always an interesting part of the program.

The theological Reflection part of the study is sometimes a struggle for participants. This year we decided to present with a partner; this worked out very well and most of the formats were used.

We had four graduating this year. One member moved away and three felt it was too much of a  time commitment. One other year one had an illness in their family. There were not enough left to start a new year. We only had one student apply for year one.

EFM has had eighteen years at St. Andrew’s. This is much longer than many programs have been active. It is a wonderful course, and my hope is that after a while there will be sufficient interest to start it up again.
