Youth & Junior Choirs

Junior Choir
The Junior Choir is open to all children from kindergarden to grade 4. Kids have a lot of fun in Junior Choir, as they learn the basics of music, as well as about teamwork.
The Junior Choir sings for the 9:15 a.m. service at St. Andrew’s two to three times monthly during the school year.
Last year’s musical, “Go, Go Jonah!” involved eleven St. Andrew’s kids and a guest, Christina McClure. Parents and siblings were a great help in creating sets, costumes and props, and the two performances in the Undercroft were well attended.
The choir also went on two field trips to see their choirmates perform in musicals at the Waldo Theater.
Last year the Choir welcomed new members Noah Hassenpflug and Benji Pugh.
The Junior and Youth Choirs, combined with the Senior Choir, sang for the St. Andrew’s 125th Anniversary celebration service, an Evensong, and Advent Lessons and Carols.
If your child is interested in learning more about how to become a Junior Choir member, please call the church office at (207) 563-3533.

If you are interested in sponsoring or supporting our Junior Choir with donations to offset music and travel expenses, please call (207) 563-3533.

Thanks from all in the Junior Choir!

Under the expert direction of Linda Blanchard, kids from grades 5 to 12 get a chance to hone their musical skills, as well as develop their abilities to learn about commitment and working together. The Youth Choir sings for the 9:15 a.m. service at St. Andrew’s at least every month during the school year, as well as singing with the Junior Choir regularly.

Last year the Youth Choir welcomed new members Noah and Jackie Hassenpflug, and Erika Bramhall. The Junior and Youth Choirs, combined with the Senior Choir, sang for the 125th Anniversary celebration service, an Evensong, and Advent Lessons and Carols.

Many of the Youth Choir members have gone on to consider careers in music.  Time spent in weekly rehearsals and Sunday services rewards the kids with a feeling of real accomplishment as well as serving as a foundation for learning about community and faith.
