Responding to needs in our community, state, and world has been characteristic of St. Andrew’s parishioners for generations. Parishioners volunteer at local food pantries, libraries, hospitals, and diaper banks. St. Andrew’s has an Outreach Committee which raises money through fundraisers, such as the food court in the parking lot that attracts folks attending Damariscotta’s Pumpkinfest each October. The Outreach Committee also makes annual grants to organizations that fall into three categories: heat and affordable housing, the needs of children, and food and fellowship. Organizations receiving Outreach assistance are concentrated in Midcoast Maine, but also extend to Lewiston, Topsham, and even Haiti.
